As of January 2013, PHP was installed on more than 240 million websites and 2.1 million web servers. Originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994, the reference implementation of PHP is now produced by The PHP Group. While PHP originally stood for Personal Home Page, it now stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, which is a recursive backronym.     It is an HTML- embedded language designed for web development. Most of its syntax is borrowed from C, C++, Perl and Java. It is a great choice for application developers as it offers a high level of simplicity.   PHP is one of the most secured languages for developing dynamic web applications as it has multiple security layers to prevent several threats and malicious attack. PHP is immensely famous for developing dynamic web applications because it uses its own memory space so as to reduce the workload on the server-side and hence minimizing the loading time which further results in fast processing speed. The main aim of PHP is to allow the web developer to create dynamically generated pages quickly.   PHP is being used since beginning in 1995. It is trusted by several numbers of websites and developers. Some of the most highly visited sites have been developed and maintained in PHP.   One of the most vital benefits of learning and using PHP is that is it is platform-independent, it supports all the major operating system like Linux, UNIX, macOS and windows. With that, it also supports for all major web servers like Apache, Netscape, Microsoft IIS etc.   PHP also supports the most popular and most used database like MySQL, Oracle, Mongo PostgreSQL etc.   If web development interest you then PHP is just the way to start, PHP is the first preference of most of the developers. If you have a love for coding then PHP can turn out to be an effective programming language to use. It is an extremely reliable language if only a few pages have to be served. For the first-timer coder, this can be the easiest way to start as one does not need to spend a lot of time studying a manual and moreover, it has easily understandable syntax, which makes it very comfortable to code with it and most importantly it is free of cost.
